The call was loud and clear: a sphere, please! Challenge accepted and (after two years of development) delivered.

Crafting a perfect sphere from Damascus Titanium alloy is no easy feat. Our journey began well before the cube's February launch. This is a passion project two years in the making. After thousands of hours of refinements, it takes over 33 hours to turn raw titanium into a single Damascus Titanium Sphere.

Why Damascus Titanium?

In a world rapidly transitioning to the virtual, the tangible often gets overlooked. In our Kilogram Sphere, we're reviving this ancient tradition, ensuring that each piece retains the unique character Damascus is known for.

Modern Engineering Meets Ancient Art

To create our Kilogram Sphere, we start with the highest quality titanium – known for its strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. But crafting a perfect sphere from Damascus titanium is no simple task. Our process involves:

Even a tiny bit of air can ruin thousands of dollars of titanium and many hours of work.

• Forging: Layers of titanium are folded and forged, time and again, to produce the distinctive patterns of Damascus steel. This painstaking process ensures that no two spheres are alike. The forging step takes the longest and is the most dangerous, because Damascus Titanium cannot be fused with any oxygen present. If even one microgram of air enters the system, it can ruin the entire batch. This step requires a level of precision, skill, and experience that is found only in a select few metalworkers.

• Machining: Using state-of-the-art CNC machinery, the forged block of Damascus titanium is then meticulously carved into a perfect sphere on our CNC lathe, maintaining an exact weight of one kilogram.

• Polishing: The sphere undergoes a rigorous hours-long polishing process, ensuring that every swirl and every pattern stands out in stark relief, shining brilliantly. As with all of our previous projects, we don't stop until we achieve an aerospace-grade finish.

• Heating: Bringing the colors out of the different alloys requires very careful and patient heating. We built a custom titanium jig to give the perfect heat distribution.

• Quality Control: Every Kilogram Sphere is inspected for perfection. We ensure that the patterns are distinct, and the finish is absolutely flawless.
